AFT-Wisconsin has a long tradition of offering educational scholarships to support dependents of members in good standing who wish to pursue a secondary education. AFT-Wisconsin offers one $1,000 university scholarship and one $500 technical college scholarship. This year, an additional $1,000 university scholarship will be awarded in memory of Kathy Monaghan, a long time union member, activist, and leader in AFT-Wisconsin.

Our first endorsements of the season are Jon Shelton for Green Bay City Council, Monica Berrier for Dunn County Board of Supervisors, Bryan Kennedy for Glendale Mayor, and Melissa Agard for Dane County Executive! We’re excited to announce the AFT-Wisconsin’s endorsement of Judge Janet Protasiewicz for the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. The current court has been governed by a narrow 4-3 conservative majority, but that can completely change by electing Judge Janet Protasiewicz. We have an opportunity to bring an end to the terrible story of gerrymandering in this state, protect reproductive rights, and stop challenges to our elections like those from State Rep Robin Vos.
