On Wednesday, January 18, the State Senate Higher Education and Tourism Committee convened a hearing on Senate Bill 452, which would extend the right to decide in favor or against collective bargaining to UW faculty and academic staff.

University of Wisconsin (UW) faculty and academic staff who are part of the AFT-Wisconsin Higher Education Council recently won introduction of Senate Bill 452, which provides groups of approximately 17,000 statewide with the right-to-vote in favor or against collective bargaining — a right-todecide that is presently and uniquely denied for these groups.
